These are a few of the 3D models I created and the workflow I developed while working on Tinker, a theatrical VR experience that evolved constantly based on user feedback and emotional tone. I was brought in to build new assets and optimize existing ones, adapting them to a painterly aesthetic that was very different from my usual realistic style. Texturing was almost nonexistent here - intentionally so, to keep things feeling painterly and playful. The real challenge was learning to simplify: deciding what details to leave out while still keeping the design expressive. It took some trial and error to find my footing, but that process helped me grow - adding a new skill to my toolkit and expanding how I approach stylized work.
What made this project truly special wasn’t just the technical challenge - it was the story. Working remotely with a team across the U.S. and the Philippines, I helped bring Lou Ward’s personal journey to life as he reflected on growing up alongside his grandfather, who was slowly affected by Alzheimer’s. His vulnerability reminded me how important it is to hold onto the people we love while we can. That message stayed with me throughout the project.
I’m grateful to have been part of something that blended immersive tech with heartfelt storytelling. Tinker isn’t just a VR experience - it’s a tribute to memory, family, and the power of connection.
